Affectionately known as the South’s grand hotel, The Peabody Memphis embodies Southern hospitality. In the heart of
“Blues City”, this magnificent Mobil Four-Star, AAA Four-Diamond hotel opened its doors in 1925 and is listed on the
National Register of Historic Places.
Throughout the 14-story hotel, Italian Renaissance grandeur combines with modern amenities like wireless Internet
connections. Having recently completed an expansive guestroom restoration, luxury extends to the Peabody Athletic
Club with indoor pool, as well as Gould’s Day Spa and Salon. Superb dining upholds another Peabody tradition. Capriccio Grill feature prime steaks, seafood, and pasta, while Chez Philippe specializes in classical French cuisine.
The convenient downtown location is just blocks from Memphis attractions like Beale Street, the Memphis Rock N
Soul Museum, Gibson Guitar Factory, Fed-Ex Forum and “AutoZone”, home of the Red Birds. Elvis Presley’s Graceland,
the National Civil Rights Museum, and STAX Museum of American Soul Music are nearby, as well.
The Peabody itself is also one of Memphis’ most popular attractions. The well known Peabody Ducks march to and
from the Grand Lobby twice daily, in a time-honored tradition dating back to the 1930’s. At 11 am and again at 5 pm,
the red carpet is rolled out and The Peabody Ducks march to the tune of John Philip Sousa’s “King Cotton March”
before a crowd of amazed and delighted guests. Like Graceland and Beale Street, The Peabody Memphis proudly
claims a legend all it’s own.
Please note that all guest rooms at the Peabody are non-smoking in compliance to Tennessee law. There is a penalty fee of $250 minimum if you smoke in guest rooms |
