AgriBank Announces 2022 Board of Directors


ST. PAUL, Minn., March 10, 2022—AgriBank today announced election results for four positions on its 18-member board of directors as well as the election of its chair and vice chair. The elections took place this week during the AgriBank 2022 Annual Meeting. Elected directors serve four-year terms, and board officers are elected each year.

Newly Elected Chair and Vice Chair

NICK VANDE WEERD (CHAIR)
Nick Vande Weerd, of Brookings, S.D., has dairy and livestock operations that include corn, soybeans and alfalfa. He has served on the AgriBank board since 2015 and as chair since 2021. Vande Weerd previously served on the board of Farm Credit Services of America.

STAN CLAUSSEN (VICE CHAIR)
Stan Claussen, of Montevideo, Minn., raises corn, corn silage, sugar beets, canning crops, and soybeans, as well as installs drainage tile and land improvement projects. He has served on the AgriBank board since 2016 and as vice chair since 2021. Claussen previously served on the board of United FCS, which has since merged with AgCountry Farm Credit Services. 

Newly Elected Directors

LAURA BRAUN
Laura Braun, of Ovid, Mich., farms corn, soybeans, and wheat, and operates a custom plant through harvest service and a seed dealership. She previously served on the board of GreenStone Farm Credit Services.

MARK PIERCE
Mark Pierce, of De Kalb, Mo., raises corn, soybeans, and hay, and has a cow/calf to finish operation. He previously served on the board of FCS Financial.

CHRIS ROBERTS
Chris Roberts of Olive Branch, Miss., farms rice, corn and soybeans. He previously served on the board of Farm Credit Midsouth.

GEORGE STEBBINS
George Stebbins, of Englewood, Ohio, farms corn, soybeans and wheat. He has served on the AgriBank board since 2018 and previously served on the board of Farm Credit Mid-America.
