ST. PAUL, Minn., August 22, 2025 – The AgriBank District Farm Credit Council (ADFCC) has presented its 2025 Friend of Farm Credit Award to U.S. Rep. Eric Sorensen of Illinois. Sorensen, a member of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, received the award for his critical leadership in preserving and supporting the well-being of agriculture and rural communities nationwide.

“Congressman Sorensen’s service on the House Agriculture Committee is vital to farmers, ranchers and rural America,” said Allyn Buhrow, a farmer from Ashton, Ill., Compeer Financial board member, and ADFCC member. “We appreciate his steadfast efforts to move a Farm Bill forward and his openness to collaborate on topics that support Farm Credit’s mission and investments in rural communities, particularly as a consistent co-sponsor of the Investing in Rural America Act. This support makes him stand out amongst his peers. We are honored to celebrate Congressman Sorensen as an AgriBank District Farm Credit Council Friend of Farm Credit and a friend of rural America.”
“I am honored to accept the Friend of Farm Credit Award,” Sorensen said. “Farm Credit plays an important role in making sure farmers have the tools and financing they need to grow their operations. I am grateful to the AgriBank District for this recognition, and I look forward to working together for many more years to support our farm communities in Illinois and across the country.”
