RICHFIELD, Minn., October 19, 2026 – The AgriBank District Farm Credit Council (ADFCC) has presented its 2026 Friend of Farm Credit Award to U.S. Rep. Mike Bost of Illinois. Bost, a member of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, received the award for his steadfast support for agriculture, rural communities and sound agricultural policy throughout his time in Congress.

“Congressman Bost’s focus on policy work that benefits farm families across the heartland stands out,” said David Haase, a farmer from Iroquois County, Ill., Farm Credit Illinois board member, and ADFCC chair. “As a member of the House Agriculture Committee and a leader on legislation benefitting beginning farmers and ranchers and supporting agriculture, such as the USDA Loan Modernization Act, he delivers a positive impact on agriculture and rural communities. We appreciate his commitment to supporting agriculture and serving as a champion for rural America.”

“Agriculture is the backbone of Southern Illinois, and organizations like Farm Credit Illinois play a critical role in helping our farmers and rural communities succeed,” Bost said. “For over a century, Farm Credit has helped hardworking farm families access the financing and resources they need to grow their operations, create jobs, and keep our agricultural economy strong. I’m honored to receive this recognition from the AgriBank District, and I’m proud to continue working alongside Farm Credit to support the next generation of farmers, cut unnecessary red tape, and ensure rural America continues to thrive.”

Farm Credit Illinois is one of the local Farm Credit Associations that compose the AgriBank District along with AgriBank. The ADFCC represents Farm Credit farmers and ranchers in a 15-state area from Wyoming to Ohio and Minnesota to Arkansas. About half the nation’s cropland is located within the AgriBank District.

Farm Credit supports rural communities and agriculture with reliable, consistent credit and financial services, today and tomorrow. It has been fulfilling its mission of helping rural America grow and thrive for more than a century with the capital necessary to make businesses successful and by financing vital infrastructure and communication services.
